Superman is such a difficult character to write on that at times I pity the people making the effort. Unlike Batman, this is a hero who does not have any major deficiencies be it physical or psychological. Thus, creating new villains or deep diving into his moral fiber do not make interesting reading. And after reading books like thisone you wish people would stop attempting to. While some effort has been made to give this one a different perspective, it does not really break new ground. The writing is the major let down with clichés abounding. There is hope for the future though with the artwork and overall story direction perking up towards the end. Hope the next one takes us in a different direction.
