This book is a bundle of laughs. While the story and the romance didn't end up working for me, the jokes and fun moments are what kept me going.
The main character in this book I found to be boring. I honestly feel that her quirky relatives outshine her constantly. She mopes and complains for most of the book – I get it, don't misunderstand– and does try to find another job, so she isn't a horrible character. I think she acted like a real person for the most part too, so that is good. I just, even at the end of the book don't feel connected to her and I don't feel like I know her.
That being said, I also don't understand the romance. Why do they like each other? What is it between attraction and coming from a big city that makes them like each other? I just didn't get it, which unfortunately makes me not care for the couple :/
The romance isn't even the biggest part of this story, I don't think anyhow... So, that is why I'm considering it Women's Fic. I think the novel is more about Margot finding her place in her family, this new town, and understanding what she really wants in life. shrugs could just be me.
But, this book is a light, sweet romance with tons of funny moments. I'm also really keen on the other characters like Frankie and Duffy, so I hope they have books and if so I'll probably read them :)
