This was an older Jenny Colgan that had been retitled “my 90s romance” and it wasn't until I had read a good portion that I realized it was the same book. The book had its moment where it was sweet and charming and then there were choppy, confusing parts where the characters were poorly fleshed out and the storyline didn't make any sense. The novel was clearly an earlier work by the author. I've read some of her later novels which are much better but packaged to appear to be candy confections to be consumed on airplanes between holiday destinations. They are actually worthy of more consideration than that. This book, however, is definitely a little flat but shows the author has a great deal of potential.
