WELL WELL WELL, what a fabulous little read this book turned out to be. When I was approached to read/review this ARC I wasn't 100% sure. The apocalypse, hackers, bio-terrorists, are not usually my thing, but the blurb intrigued me. So I decided to step outside my box and give it a go, and man am I glad that I did!
This had an intriguing, well-paced (for the most part), original plot. It had interesting and well developed (for the most part) characters. It had twists and turns. It had sexy menage times. It had humor, and it was very well written.
So, why not 5 stars you ask? Well, this book is on the longer side (in comparison to what I normally read) and I found it a wee bit wordy at times. Because of that, it dragged for me in places (mostly through the middle section.) I thought a little too much time was spent with John, Seb, and Colt watching Daniel and her pulling hilarious stunts to annoy them. I wanted them to get on with the “romance” that was brewing.
I also wanted John to be more developed. I feel like Seb (as well as Daniel) were the most developed. A little less Colt, and then John. I wanted his “kink” explored more. I feel like we didn't get to “know” him as well as the others. That said, it does appear as if there is going to be a book two, so hopefully we'll get more into John (and the ongoing apocalypse baddie situation) in that book.
Overall, this was a cracking good read. With action, humor, romance, and sex. So two really big thumbs up from yours truly.
GAH!! Eve Dangerfield has just solidified her status in the top 10 of my —Favorite Authors: I would read their shopping list—list lol. Shes just so good, she really can't miss!! Like this book had a plot line that should have required a lot of disbelief suspension, but there was none. I was just sucked in, and everything written on these pages could have actually been happening in real life for all I knew.
I want to sincerely thank Namera The Literary Invertebrate for her recommendation and let me just say and holy hell, I was not ready
