The second volume hits a better stride now that the initial introduction of the world and characters is out of the way. We get to see the world expanding and many more creatures emerging, which was a delight. The relationship part is still a bit awkward, but as it's not the focal point, I found it easier to swallow. I like very much where the story is going and Chise's character growth is a worthwhile journey to follow and I quite enjoyed the whole thing overall. This is a world I'm happy to get lost in!
