The Art of Eavesdropping

Had a lot of fun trying to figure out this twisty case. I bonded with Elliot right away and loved following her through her new job as she tries to figure out a murder case that her new PI boss wants solved. There are a couple guys who could possibly end up being love interests, but I liked one and mistrusted the other. We'll see if anything comes of that with subsequent books. There are two cases left unsolved for other books in the series (Beltway serial killer and her father's true past) but the murder case comes to a satisfying and rather surprising conclusion. Can't wait to fit the next book into my reading schedule.

One gripe: what does oak actually smell like and how does a girl who grew up in the jungle have any knowledge of that? Does it smell like red oak or white oak? That was a bit of a stretch...
