When I first heard about The Art of Dinsey Tangled (aka Rapnuzel) I thought it was going to be a cute little book about the illustrations. What I had not been expecting was this gorgeous practically encyclopedia of the illustrations and artwork of each character and setting with background commentary to complement it and engage a reader with anticipation. Well in my case it is anticipation, since the movie is coming out soon. Even for people after they have seen the film, this book will be so much fun. It's like the type of things you find in the DVD extras, but this is in a tangible book format that you can just sit and stare at the images. I was enthralled and educated and surprised by things that I learned about the Dinsey industry as well as the history of the legend of Ranpunzel herself. It was also neat that in some cases I liked other artists renditions and not the final copy quite as much. I think that this book would make a great gift for any Disney lover and family to share.
