A giant brought to his knees by his baby bird, in this case Wren. We met Wren and his Daddy Dom a.k.a. Charlie in [a:Kim Alan 5842688 Kim Alan https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1403913233p2/5842688.jpg]'s prior book [b:Mission: X 18733947 Mission X (Mission X, #1) Kim Alan https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1405620760s/18733947.jpg 25633272]. I confess to having some curiosity about them and this hit the spot.In a few short chapters the author lays out Charlie and Wren's story: what kept them apart and how they finally came together. We meet a pre-Xander Paul who plays a sweet but pivotal role in bringing the two love birds together. I liked it. I liked how Wren owns his kinks and goes for what he wants but is smart enough to surrender to the right hands. I liked how Charlie was this hulking, intimidating guy who is putty in the presence of waif boy Wren but can still hold it together to take care of his Little Bird.I liked the scene orchestrated by Paul to bring the lovers together. I liked the final love scene. Mostly I loved Charlie's way of being a Dom. He's not hung up gadgets or protocol but rather on making his sub feel safe and loved and protecting him, sometimes in spite of himself. Yes it's super romantic and much of it is rainbows, unicorns, and marshmallows but I happily took the ride. Enjoy.
