this was a challenging read to say the least.

dostoevsky would strike you with the most interesting take on certain topics, written with such passion and follow it by a dry spell, just chunks and chunks of text. this was a whopping 823 pages long journey which has multiple moments under the sun, picking up its pace towards the end.

russians do seem to love to have some deep extensive conversations with one another, filled with such emotion. something i believe is unimaginable in this time and age.

Ilyusha will always have my heart, together with the conversation that Alyosha and Captain Snegiryov has during the exchange of two hundred rubles.

overall, i am proud to have come out of this alive but not well. a reread and a purchase of this book is in due course.
