When I decided to read The Foundation, I was a bit skeptical when I took upon myself to first read all of his books in order before it. The Complete Robot was a pleasant surprise, but would I like the others? I was afraid of another Ender Series situation...

That said, this book did not let me down at all. The book's main character, Elijah Bailey, has the characteristics I most like in characters: he is intelligent and reasonable. He is a homicide detective capable of great deductions.

Asimov succeeds in describing a future that could very well be a logical evolution of our present society. The world fells different, yet we can tell it's still the same.
