Toalson's debut novel-in-verse is poignant, plucky, and plum full of rich images. Set in Houston, Texas in 1972 we are introduced to Paulie, his sister Charlie, and their family during the days of school desegregation.
Started during my lunch break today, and finished tonight. A compelling story!
