Weird, yes. Horror... eh. I mean I guess to someone out there it is, for me, not really. As for the story it self. It was written poetically and I really did enjoy it. I think maybe it fell because of the way it was translated. I am not sure since I can't read the OG works. I did like the underlying message or picture it was painting. It is sad and depressing in its own way. If you like A24 movies, I really think you may enjoy this one.
