This is a story of an orphan boy who lives in a monastery and is sort of a slave there - works for his food and housing. One day he stumbles over something mysterious, which leads to even more mysterious things, and it turns out that all the stories he has been hearing, of faefolk and angels and evil and all, are true, and he's smack in the middle of it.

I liked it, a lot. I think the characters were OK, the story was interesting, the writing unintrusive, I cared about the MC, I wanted to know what happened, there was enough excitement and beauty, peace and love and suspicion and misery to keep me interested. I bristled a little at the description of the crow lady, but it's just because I identify myself with her, and I'm not like that :-D I wouldn't have done it that way. It is intriguing and I'm eagerly waiting for the continuation.
