The second book of the Heritage of Shannara. It's a good continuation and even has a pretty well-told ending. The journey from start to end is of a mixed feeling though. While the general plot and story is quite good, including some very interesting fights and portrayal of magic, the way it's presented falls short. The story feels really dragged out at many points, with character motivations and emotional changes feeling very disorganised and repeated. There were also oddly out-of-place interludes as the story suddenly jumps over to the other main characters of the series.
