This was a sweet, and sexy novella. I really enjoyed this friends to lovers story. It's a quick listen and can easily be listened to in one sitting, which was how I listened to it. The story doesn't feel rushed at all and the writing is pure Shen, which is to say it is captivating and wonderful. I love getting lost in her worlds. LJ Shen is a genius, only Shen could write a novella that includes friends to lovers, a fake relationship, roommates, and fake other things and make it work. And it does work, Jolie and Sage are the cutest. I was rooting for them from the get go. The extended epilogue was a great addition to the story and gives a look into their future. The book is sexy as sin, as one would expect from an LJ Shen book.

I wasn't sure about Tessa Ellory to begin with, she was a new voice to me, and at the beginning it felt like Sage sounded a lot older than he was, however, once the prologue was over and we got to the bulk of the story, I actually loved her performance and it really made the story for me. The way she conveyed the emotions the characters were experiencing was spot on. Joe Arden's performance was great, however, I just felt that his voice was too older sounding for the characters in this story.

If you've never listened to anything from LJ Shen before this is the perfect introduction to her writing.
