The Fantasy League

I have very opposing feelings towards this book.
First, Sherrilyn kenyon has AN AWESOME imagination. Wow. I just can't even imagine! - and Nykyrian is so hot.
I wasn't able of putting the book down while I should have been studying :p
Second, her style of writing wasn't very good. It wasn't genuine. It would set you on edge, waiting for what would happen next, but it didn't quite satisfy me. I found her writing style a combination of Stephanie Meyer's and Dan Brown's, and believe it or not, Stephanie Meyer is the good part in this.
Like Stephanie Meyer, her writing style is very exaggerated. Her way of describing emotions was very plain, repetitive and dull. But at least Stephanie Meyer is an English literature graduate. And here is where comes Dan brown style. Dan brown style is known for its weakness, but I think Kenyon's was worse. Dan brown speaks more than he actually writes. It is like he's dying to sell his books to everyone, not just the people who know how to criticize. He knows how to manipulate their feelings so they won't put the book down, and when they finish it, they grab another of his work. But a reader, who had a taste of everything, wouldn't fall for it. Dan Brown, Like Kenyon, wants to sell more than do the art of writing because if it was well written, people, as we see the non reading generation today, will get bored of it. Kenyon and Brown's writing style is more like speaking, than actual writing. I am at a loss at whether we should admire the fact that they try to reach for readers of all ages, or despise them for ruining the art of writing. In that matter, people will fall for them and not read but them. The sad part? They won't know how to have their opinion anymore concerning a book because they will compare everything to that first book they read, which was written by either Kenyon or Brown.
Now now , I sound like a hypocrite to myself. I loved Angels and Demons, I am loving the da vinci code, and I loved Born of night. But I am speaking as a person who read many books from classics to modern fiction.
Third, and last, I loved the characters. All of them. They sounded soooo real even if they are aliens. Andarions, and ... okay I forgot other species names!

Now now, I am leaving to read book two of this series! :D
