The Flood Between Us (Higginbotham Publications, 978-1099760891, 2019) is more than just a love story. Nicole Higginbotham-Hogue takes on the job of describing what happens after tragedy strikes a town and people beyond the community step forward to help.

I am reviewing this book at an odd time in the world where we are going through our own crisis. Higginbotham-Hogue echoes the feelings of what is going on in real life in her pages. For me though, people are a lot nicer in her pages and a lot more helpful (laugh).

I love both main characters and the strength it takes for the choices they make to live their lives. The choices they make to love each other. Then the choices made for the future. Higginbotham-Hogue provides the exact balm that I need to read right now.

Love conquering pain, disaster, loss, and survival. Together.

I received an ARC of this book and I am writing a review without prejudice and voluntarily.
