The Forbidden Stone is a fun read, probably best geared for upper elementary kids. Although there isn't a lot of character development, the action picks up steam in the second half making the chapters fly by. A good summer read, or in my case, a rainy weekend.
This quickly became one of those books I just had to get through. I consider it a slight step up in quality to 39 Clues but the story was nowhere near interesting enough for me. I didn't care about the characters at all. I can't even recall their names anymore.
