Gorgeously gothic Ghibli. The vibes of a Hayao Miyazaki film (little girl plus fantastical creature), but lean a little darker. Quite obviously I'll be reading the subsequent volumes because this Vol 1-3 collection in no way resolves the story. It's honestly baroque and bizarre enough to enjoy, regardless of the plot arc, which is good because it does have that serialized tendency to go over the same ground to stall the action a bit.
