It started off fresh and funny, but as I read I got sick of all the penis jokes and got bored. Story of her life was interesting, but I could have gone without excessive details on sex and genitalia. Also, how many times can you use the phrase “going down on” in a book that is not a porn book and that is not a memoir of a brothel worker?
I was also disgusted by the anti gun violence chapter, because she had the need to mention at least 3 times (or more) that she is not against guns, just agains gun violence. Well, Amy, you should be against guns! Did she repeat that message several times to not lose popularity among gun lovers or is that her actual opinion? Either way I'm disgusted.
I love Amy Schumer's standup, and her show. We recently saw her live here in Orlando, and it was hilarious. Her book, however, is less comedic and more of a memoir of hard work coupled with sad life events.
One word : Hilarious.
I never understood people who didn't find Amy Schumer funny.
As expected, the book did not disappoint. Had a few sad moments about her dad.
Would recommend.
Amy Schumer you are my hero! This book was exactly what I was looking for. Amy Schumer is a real person who is witty and charming. I love the diary references and how open she is about being an introvert. This book made me “have all the feels.” God I wish I could make this review longer but god I just loved it so so much that is all I got!
