If you're of a nervous disposition, take a sedative before proceeding.For reasons of plot, we don't get as much this time of the enjoyable interplay between the contrasting characters of Smith and McCall; but the plot seems more coherent and really seems to be going somewhere in this story. The two of them are gradually gaining more understanding of their time-travel device, so there's less of the random walk that we experienced in the first book, although we still take in a variety of times and places.At least one more book is promised in the series, and I'll be interested to see where this journey is going.
