I felt I enjoyed this more as just a memoir than as a travel memoir, as it didn't really incite the passion of travel I initially read it expecting. I did really identify with Rachel as a person, though, and felt a certain understanding at what she went through and the conclusions she came to about herself and about her life, which held more meaning to me that the actual travel aspect of her story. So it wasn't a total miss for me on the whole, I did enjoy Rachel's internal journey, but was hoping for something more that would be about the places she travelled to and about travel in general, so I didn't love it because of that aspect. I think it's still a good read if your looking for a story that encourages you to step out of your comfort zone, find your own path in life and to to do it in a way that suits you and no one else.
