It's books like these that seriously bring the fear of going to a hospital back into the forefront of my mind. I would rather stay home and try to “wing it” before I go to a hospital and put my life in someone's hands I don't know. I say this even with nurses in the family and some that are friends.

The entire time I was listening to this there was ice cold chills down my spine. The hospital administration and upper management covering up Charles' “mistakes” and looking past the mysterious influx of coding patients is downright disgusting! It is believed this man murdered up to 400 patients!! He could have been stopped earlier but they cared more about their reputation and monetary donations. There is no excuse.

I applaud the nurses who stood up, despite the hospital's intimidation, and spoke out. If it wasn't for their bravery Charles would have murdered more and may never have been caught.

Amy is a hero. She put herself, and her family, on the line in order to help police put a stop to Charles' killing spree. I can't imagine the fear she must have felt being undercover and having to stay “close” to Charles. I also love the fact that she threw a big finger to Sommerset Hospital and got the detectives the printouts they needed and spent her time reviewing and deciphering them. She was pivotal in discovering Charles' methods and pulled the needle out of the haystack. I believe the police would have taken a lot longer to get what they needed to take Charles down without her. Or sad to say....they may never have.

The narrator was wonderful and made this an easy listen and one I wanted to come back to despite the abhorrent content. Definitely one for true crime and serial killer fans.
