The book is really long but engaging for me. I love Ms. Red who is an ex-army woman who safeguards a building. She is the protagonist of our story. She is the security officer of the Palace. The Palace is the name of the site for which they are giving protection. The Palace has been attacked by some unknown creatures. The site alone is not in danger, the whole world is. She needs to save the whole world.
I loved supporting characters Scan, Bear, and rocks who are also ex-army personnel protecting the palace. On one side some creatures are trying to attack the whole world on the other side some creatures trying to help in saving the world.
To know how Red and her friends saved the world from invaders with the help of the creatures you should read the book.
It was narrated so well and had humor, suspense and was so engaging. This is a long read but you won't feel it as the story moves well.
I am waiting for the next part of the read.
Red, Scan, Bear and Rocks are attempting to adjust to civilian life after leaving the military behind. While working security detail for a local construction site, Red witnesses ... well she isn't sure exactly ... but she knows they weren't human or any kind of animal she's ever seen.
It soon becomes clear to her and her friends that something otherworldly is trying to destroy Earth. It also becomes clear there are creatures attempting to save it. Banding together, can they stop the threat in time to save the world?
You know those books you read, where you lose track of time, where you blink and it's hours later? That's this book. The geeky humor throughout this one had me tickled and laughing ... a lot. Grundle is hands down my favorite with Red coming in right behind because...well badass female...who doesn't enjoy that?
I love that this is set in a real world. I love that this is a fantasy meets skeptics. It's Sci-Fi. It's magic. It's good writing and fun characters. It's plain awesome and everything I enjoy!
