"The Guardian" is book no. 2 (of 6) in "The O'Malley Series," preceded by the prequel 'Danger in the Shadows' and book no. 1 'The Negotiator.'
A CHRISTY AWARD WINNER! "The Guardian" A federal judge has been murdered. There is only one witness. And an assassin wants her dead. U.S. Marshal Marcus O'Malley thought he knew the risks of the assingment... He was wrong."
If you like suspense with your romance you will love this series. Dee Henderson masterfully creates characters you will not easily forget. Adding in the age old questions of the Christian faith and applying that faith to everyday life is skillfuly entwined without compromising that faith or being preachy.

The characters and the plot both deserve five stars, as usual. (Though the synopsis is a bit inaccurate.)
HOWEVER, this is the absolute lowest I can handle on terms of being able to read and enjoy despite bad story mechanics. It makes me wonder if the editor was on holiday during the publishing, and it somehow went out without proofreading. There were errors on nearly every page–mostly by blatant misuse of commas and semicolons, which were often swapped for each other at random–and also with irritating oopses like changing verb tense in the middle of a sentence, adverbs lacking their “ly”, and the dreadful “where...at?” Sentences of lyrical brilliance were paired in the same paragraph as short, choppy ones or long run-ons and comma splices. I honestly felt like taking out a red pen and sending a copy back to the publisher.
