Amara has escaped her life as a slave in the Wolf Den brothel, but now her survival depends on the affections of her mercurial patron. At night, her dreams are haunted by her past. She longs for the women she left behind and finds herself pursued by the man who once owned her. To be free, she'll need to be as ruthless as he is. Amara knows her existence in Pompeii is subject to Venus, goddess of love. Yet finding love may prove to be the most dangerous act of all. This is the second installment in Elodie Harper's acclaimed Wolf Den Trilogy.

One step forward and two steps back.Amara is out of the Wolf Den and things are looking up, but she soon finds out her patron is not the man she thought he was.I spent the majority of the book tensely waiting for the affair to be found out, but it ended up being so much worse. The thought of having to decide to leave her newborn daughter or risk Felix exposing who the father was, it's just unbearable.I cannot wait until someone, hopefully Britannica, kills Felix in a brutal and painful way.Onto the last book...
