The Legacy in the Attic
2013 • 240 pages

This story was pretty interesting, more so than many of the others. This story didn't seem too similar than the others either. Annie has her twin grandchildren staying with her for a month and while they were looking in the attic for dress up clothes they found an old beaded purse that Annie and some friends used to play with as a child. The purse got ripped and when Annie's was trying to sew it back up she round an old will tucked under the lining. The will was from 1920 and excluded someone from inheriting. It just so happened that it was an ancestor of Ian Butler, the mayor of Stoney Point and Annie's beau. She decides to look into the will to make sure it is legit before telling him about it because he's already been so stressed about trouble at the mill. There has been a lot of vandalism at the mill costing him a lot of money in repairs and clean up. However, before Annie got a chance to talk to Ian about it her purse is snatched with the old will inside and it looks like the will was the only thing they were after. She hadn't talked to anyone about the will but obviously someone knows about it and wants to get the mill from Ian using it. Can they really execute a will that is almost 100 years old?
