It was just ok for me. I really did not like this book and wanted it to be done already. Little Bride is about Minna and her journey to America where she marries a Jewish man who lives in South Dakota with his two sons. This man, Max, pays for Minna to become his wife. Minna did suffer a lot growing up and had a rough life but I did not feel sorry for her. If I felt sorry for anyone it was Max. He treated her the best with patience, kindness always thoughtful and all she did was think poorly of him, make fun of him, cheat on him, repulsed by him, and lash out at him. Minna was just an incredibly selfish and mean person. Throughout the book she often would say she should feel bad for something but was not, she should say this or the other to comfort so and so but did not want to... Selfish and mean and she knew it.
The just ok and two stars are for the historical content and the story was well written... I just didn't care for any of the characters other than Max.
