The Long Weekend

This book just took absolutely forever to get through. It was good enough that I didn't want to give up on it, but it just dragged. And I had to remind myself that it was good whenever I wanted to sit down and read - it didn't call me back to read more. A lot of it also didn't really feel like it mattered... the family who owned the farm, I guess. It just felt kind of forced and I think it slowed everything down. I liked the POV style, I thought it was cool.

Me decidí por este libro por sus buenísimas críticas.

Realmente me ha decepcionado. Esperaba mucho más.

Empieza a ponerse algo interesante a partir del 60% del libro. Ahí comencé a tener ganas de seguir leyéndolo para ver qué pasaba. Hasta entonces me daba pereza ponerme a leerlo porque era una lectura muy monótona.

Imaginaba un final espectacular y tampoco lo ha sido.

Un libro que solo me ha enganchado en alguna parte breve. De esos fáciles de olvidar.

Honestly, expectations are shit. I had heard such great reviews about it, and then I thought it fell flat, it didn't make sense, the characters were uninteresting and confusing, the big reveal was a very boring one, and all in all it's all a big miss. I've given out two stars because the beginning fooled me enough and because I'm an optimist, basically.
