I just finished the Man I love by @suannelaquer and here are my thoughts
Erik Fiskare, or fish as he is better known as, is a college junior and on the road to a bright future with his girlfriend Daisy. The movie theater is the catalyst that night, that sends them both down a different path. When a gunman opens fire with the intention of stopping the show, Fish without hesitating runs to where Daisy is.
Having both survived that fateful night, you would think the couple would be closer than ever. That night tore them apart. The tragedy having brought out the worst in the both of them.
This book certainly takes you a firm journey through the highs and lows of life in this rich and raw novel. I loved the realistic tone the book took and the sensitive topics it covers were done with care.
I really enjoyed getting to know Daisy and Fish. It just shows you that one event, doesn't even have to last long, can impact your life in such a way that you can't find your way back.
I did feel there could have been less of the book. There were some times I lost interest but luckily enough it wasn't for long. The book really was a gem for me and I am excited to read more from Suanne and more in this series as it comes out.
Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to review your book! 4 stars.
Some really exceptional writing here and I urge anyone who loves books in the contemporary romance genre to pick this one up next.
