The pacing and story arc of these little tales is rather inconsistent and the resolutions are sometimes unsatisfying. I quite enjoyed the one about the ugly policeman and it was fun to see Wodehouse write female narrators.
Delightfully fun stories. “At Gesenheimer's” was my favorite.
Short Review: This an early collection of 13 short stories by PG Wodehouse. It was my first introduction to PG Wodehouse. The stories were enjoyable, but nothing earth shattering. My favorite was a first person narrative from the perspective of a dog. But most were ironic little romances. There was an O'Henry feel to most of them. I enjoyed them enough to pick up another, but this was probably not the greatest intro to Wodehouse. (That and I am not really a fan of short stories. So I will be sure to get a full length book next time.)
