Scarlett DeHaven has been in and out of Nashville for as long as she can remember, which isn't much. She is also in and out of the bottle and popping prescription pills whenever possible. After a stint in a rehab clinic, she is ready to get her life back on track and begins looking for a place to call home. When a real estate agent recontacts her, she buys a mansion in the Shenandoah Valley and begins to make plans to open a Bed and Breakfast, while she continues her music writing career.
But as she gets into the house, strange things begin to happen. Voices, noises, and a strange woman in black that seems to appear and disappear as quickly as she came. When her friend Stella comes to visit, the noises intensify, and soon there is more going on that just a whisper. Rumors of a vampire colony, secret tunnels, and mysterious deaths within the house all make for one wild ride that may kill anyone that sets foot on the property. Scarlett may not make it out of the house alive....
This book was fabulous! I sat and read through it in one sitting! I could not put it down. I had to know what happened. The backstory was great, and London did a great job of weaving all the different parts of the story together. If you enjoy stories about vampires, and things that make you jump in the night, then you have to check this one out! It made the hair on my arms stand on end more than once!
Didn't hate it, but also didn't love it. The MC was hard to connect with or even feel sorry for. The narrator was also very robotic in their presentation so maybe that was part of it.
