Revenge is a dish best eaten cold. This phenomenal Flemish international bestseller tells of a young woman's return to the small town where she suffered as a child and the payback she demands there.

This is a very slow read, but if you go into it with that in mind, it's not that bad. But be warned, if you skip ahead, you will miss out.
The story is very good and the characters are well developed. But it is a tragedy in the original sense. It ends very badly and the author reminds you of that throughout the book (if you pay attention).
The writing style did not do it for me. Furthermore, the story is told in three time lines : the present, the past (summer that everything changed) and another past time line without any specific structure. And that last one was the problem for me.
Overall, a good story, told in an OK style and a very bad ending.
3.5 stars for me.
