The Murder Complex by Lindsay Cummings has been on my most anticipated read of 2014. I had really high hopes for her first book and I was not disappointed! I truly enjoyed this book from beginning to end. It is a good YA dystopian novel with a love interest.

This book was interesting to read because it is in duel prospective. I really enjoyed that because lately I haven't found any books with duel prospectives. It is always the best for books with duel prospectives to be on characters that are in the love interest. As the reader, you get to experience both sides of the story and see how each person feels. That is a good thing to have in a book for me.

The main girl character, Meadow, is kick-ass and I really enjoyed reading about her character. She has a strong background with a strict father that is looking out for her. She has a brother and sister that are lovely and she would do anything for them. I really enjoyed the Meadow and Peri interaction in the beginning of the novel because it is always nice to have someone in a messed up world that is still “innocent”.

The main guy character, Zephyr, is a normal guy that is living in a different part of town but occasionally dreams about a silver haired girl. We find out a lot about him throughout the book. Who he is and his background.

This book had a lot of action and twists that I did not see coming but also did. The main thing was who Zephyr was. I knew he was different but as the reader we didn't know a lot about the background of the “government” for this novel. That was interesting to read about and learn as Zephyr did also.

This world was a dystopian era with a hugely messed up world but it was different that some other worlds that I have read about. This world has a lot of murder and each person will murder if they have to. That was a big difference in the world now and this world. They barely gave it a second glance.. it was just KILL THAT PERSON THERE! That is what makes this book great because it is so different than how the world is today but it isn't far fetch if this was to happen.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I have been waiting to read it since I have been following Lindsay Cummings on the journey with her as I am one of her booknerdigans! I cannot wait for the second one! And also to pick up her other series that will release soon. I would recommend picking this up if you enjoy a good YA dystopian novel with a nice love interest involvement!
