The Mystery of Alice

I guess I didn't read enough of the description for this because I thought there was going to be a fantasy element. Also, even though I often read YA books I really struggled with this one which is for a younger crowd. I kept zoning out because I just couldn't get interested in the story. It really bothered me that Alice was able to enroll in a school, any kind of school, without her father's knowledge or permission. Parents usually have to be present and fill out a lot of paperwork. I tried to put that out of my mind for the sake of the story but then the girl does the equivalent of the dumb blond going into the basement to see what made that scary sound in all the horror movies. Yeah, that never has a good outcome. She also doesn't tell anyone where she's going so hello all you teens out there listening to this audiobook, NEVER EVER DO THAT.
