“There could be pockets of normal even in the middle of the awful.”

I have always heard such fantastic things about Nora Roberts' works and after reading this, I can see exactly why. This was the first book of hers that I have read and I know she will become a favourite author for me.

From the very first chapter, I was hooked and I started cursing myself for never picking up one of these books before. The characters are so complex with many dimensions to them that you can't help but be intrigued by them.

Two of my favourite genres are mystery and romance so this was a perfect mix of the two of them. Usually, with books that have two genres coexisting together, one or both of them can feel rushed or undeveloped but with The Obsession, everything felt so cohesive and written perfectly. I didn't want to put this book down, there was never a moment where my attention wasn't on this.

This was a thoughtfully written out plot with fantastic characters to complete it. Naomi is fierce, independent and such a great female protagonist. Xander was just the cherry on top with how his character complimented and never overshadowed or took away her character development. I would love to read a story about Mason and his story following his journey with healing from their past and how it affects his day to life with his career as an FBI behavioural analyst.

This was suspenseful and so much fun to read.

I am so excited to read more from Nora.
