After Rachel Yoder's husband is murdered by outlaws in an act of outrageous greed, she must raise her 10-year-old son alone on the Montana Plains. One day, a handsome stranger dying from a gunshot wound walks into her ranch. With simple kindness, she treats his injury and nurses him back to health. Soon Rachel finds herself drawn to this mysterious outsider with a violent past--and must put her future on the line for a last chance at happiness.

This book was not really for me. It felt like a Hallmark movie for most of the book I read. I eventually just gave up on it. I couldn't relate to any of the characters and didn't really care what happened to them. This was a book club book and I was starting to avoid reading, so I decided it was time to put it down in favor of something different.
I gave it two stars because it felt well written and I am sure there are many people who will relate better with the characters and enjoy the book. I just wasn't for me.
