2.5 stars I'm pretty disappointed I didn't like this book more. The writing wasn't that great; there were over-descriptions of things that didn't need any, the dialogue was awkward and the characters didn't feel like real people. I was also disappointed by the lack of the book club! Basically the only reason I wanted to read this was because of the book club, but it was more surrounding Amy-Faye's event planning business (and a group of too many people to keep track of). The mystery was kinda meh. I don't think I'll read the next one.
Heaven, Colorado is a quaint, little town that has its share of tourists and weddings. I mean who wouldn't want to get married in Heaven right? Amy-Faye is the person to seek out if you want your wedding planned efficiently and professionally. During the course of planning a wedding (which also happens to be for her on-again/off-again ex) she finds her friend Ivy on death's doorstep.
When Ivy is later declared dead and her death ruled a suicide, Amy-Faye and The Readaholics must put their heads together to find the truth behind Ivy's murder...because it is murder. Pretty soon Amy-Faye has received a note taped to her door...clearly a threat...back off or else. Will she and her friends be able to solve the murder or is Amy-Faye doomed to end up the same as Ivy?
Cozies are such great reads to get lost in over the weekend. This is another awesome find and start to a new series for me. I love that this isn't as cutesy as some of my other ones but has more of a Murder She Wrote and real-world feel. I also love that there is a book club called The Readaholics made up of smart, funny, chaotic and loveable women. Looking forward to more of this series.
