Look up! From the Caldecott Medal-winning creator of the Hat Trilogy comes a new deadpan gem. Turtle really likes standing in his favorite spot. He likes it so much that he asks his friend Armadillo to come over and stand in it, too. But now that Armadillo is standing in that spot, he has a bad feeling about it . . . Here comes The Rock from the Sky, a hilarious meditation on the workings of friendship, fate, shared futuristic visions, and that funny feeling you get that there's something off somewhere, but you just can't put your finger on it. Merging broad visual suspense with wry wit, celebrated picture book creator Jon Klassen gives us a wholly original comedy for the ages.

What a treat it is when we have a new Klassen book to read the kids have never read. TJ immediately asked to read this again the moment it was done. From I Want My Hat Back to now, he is far and away their favorite author.

This one was pretty funny and thick. Loved the “chapters” and the subject matter. Plus ALIENS. Lol
It's another intriguing collection of linked very-short stories from the always-slyly-humored author/illustrator, Jon Klassen. In the first story, Turtle is pictured on a flat piece of land, near a flower. “I like standing in this spot. It is my favorite spot to stand. I don't want to stand anywhere else,” he tells us. Turn the page, and we see a huge rock falling from the sky. What will happen next? We know Jon Klassen dares to take us into scary places other children's authors might stay away from. Would Jon Klassen dare to have the rock fall on Turtle? We know he might, and that keeps us turning pages.
