Well, this is the ISBN I have, but this is a completely different cover...
I read this book when I was growing up and I only remember two things:
1. It was boring
2. Opium. So much opium
I am not really sure who the intended audience of this book is. I really loved it, but it seems to expect a lot of knowledge of the opium trade and British colonial politics. I suppose perhaps it is intended for British children.
Anyway, great characters & very intriguing mystery. But just... kind of weird.
