The king of wolves was more beast than man, more tyrant than king, and so much more than he seemed. Raised to avenge his murdered parents, he’d been trained and conditioned until nothing but violence and hatred lined the walls of his dead heart. For nearly four years, I’d done all I could to help my kingdom as we faced the wolf king’s unconquerable evil—hardly anything at all. As the only heir to the Gracewood line, I’d been relegated to menial tasks that would keep me and my secrets safe.

An epic fantasy romance, based on a ton of different legends and stories, and despite the very full plot and things constantly happening, this book is engaging and fun to read. Kept me on my toes the whole time and the characters, especially Opal, were a blast to read.
This was Februarys Lost in Romance Book Club Pick. We are immediately thrown into this world and usually I like that but this time it didn't work for me because I didn't understand what was going on and even after finishing it I'm still not 100% sure what all the fighting was for. This book was steamy!! Opal and Dade definitely have chemistry but I couldn't get 100% on board with the romance because of something that happens in the beginning of the book. Y'all know it takes a lot for me not to root for couple in a romance so that's saying a lot. Plot wise it was hard to follow at times because the author would jump from one thing to the other without any explanation. There were several times where I had to reread something because I thought I had missed something. The worlding building and magic definitely needed to be elaborated on because like I said I still confused after finishing it.
