A modern serial killer - hunting an ancient secret. A woman is left to die as the rebuilt Globe theatre burns. Another woman is drowned like Ophelia, skirts swirling in the water. A professor has his throat slashed open on the steps of Washington's Capitol building. A deadly serial killer is on the loose, modelling his murders on Shakespeare's plays. But why is he killing? And how can he be stopped? A gripping, shocking page turner, The Shakespeare Secret masterfully combines modern murder and startling true revelations from the life of Shakespeare. It has been acclaimed as one of the most compulsively readable thrillers of recent years.
Reviews with the most likes.
It was impossible to miss the plot wheels turning, the characters were almost non-existent and I figured out the ‘twist' within the first 100 pages, but I still enjoyed it. The Shakespeare conspiracy theory was fun - it is what I enjoyed about the book - but if you're not interested in that much literary history be warned because it overwhelms the very thin plot.
This book had some iffy reviews, so I really wasn't sure what to expect, but I have to admit I really really liked it! It was like Dan Brown meets Shakespeare, fast paced, interesting characters, an intriguing little read! Just a note, this is another of those books that is out under two different titles (Interred with Their Bones and The Shakespeare Secret), I had both on my reserved list not realizing they were in fact the same book (duh LOL), so just wanted to give a “heads up” about that! I look forward to reading more from this author.
