I love Japanese mystery books. It's not like I've read thousands, but all I've read until now have been right up my alley. And this book wasn't the exception.

The plot was intriguing, and kept me interested until the very last page. A couple of things were predictable, but that fact didn't ruin the story for me. Reiko Himekawa is one memorable character. I liked everything about her. Her participation in the story was superb, and I liked how she resolved murders. The rest of the characters were also interesting (even those who have lesser roles), and the themes portrayed in the story were real-life problems.

I'm definitely going to read the second book. Hopefully one day I'll read the whole series...
