Wow, talk about not seeing that one coming! I wasn't sure who I was rooting for throughout this book and then suddenly it took an unexpected twist!

Harper is mourning the loss of her husband, Ben, along with everything she thought she knew about him while trying to keep it together for the sake of her kids. She is not a fan of her brother, Lane's new wife, Candace, so when she ends up staying at Ben's while sorting out what to do next, the uncomfortable moments are a bit unavoidable. Candace has a past she isn't talking about, one that seems to be creeping up on her, and Harper is not going to stand by and let anyone hurt her brother if she can help it. A whirlwind marriage, having only met a few months ago, Harper is less than thrilled at the news of their marriage, but Candance isn't going to let her step in and ruin the new life she is creating for herself with Lane. Suddenly it seems like both women are vying for Lane's attention and for him to take her side. Two new sisters-in-law and they couldn't be more the opposite of each other. And to top it off, both of them are hiding something big.

As with all of Pamela's books, I couldn't put it down once I started and was drawn in further with every chapter. I loved the alternating chapters between Lane, Harper, and Candace - hearing each person tell their side of the story made it that much easier to follow and was the perfect opportunity for hints to be dropped throughout. Ones that kept me guessing along the way and to my surprise, I was still blindsided when the truth came out!

A fabulously twisty, must-read thriller, full of family secrets, lies, and murder...
