A Convoluted History of Cannabis Legalization in the United States
On the fifth of November, 1996, the state of California asked residents whether they approved of medicinal cannabis use. Five million people--drug users, apparently--said "yes." This satirical novel follows a team of quirky characters as they navigate the legal uncertainties of a budding industry in the wake of California's passage of Proposition 215. Will this misfit team succeed in overcoming the barriers presented by a rival company, an overzealous DEA agent, and even the President of the United States? The answer to that question ultimately depends upon how each of them defines success.
