I have been waiting for Assail and Sola's story for years, but this is just non sense.
I'll definitely stop reading this series right here.
Just came back and apparently missed a bunch of “cleaning up the characters “ Game of Thrones style. Since in mood for escapism glad. I do like how we revisit old romances as they grow and change too.
I was really, really excited to get my mitts on this because SOLA AND ASSAIL YESSSSS~! But their romance kind of fell a wee bit flat, especially after all the drama involving involving Xcor and Layla in the last book, to say nothing of the drama with Rhage and Mary and Biddy. Good thing there was that whole thing with Jane and V - but even that felt more like...IDK. Explanations? More like there's a new phase to this story and this book is to really introduce that new phase in preparation for the books that are yet to come. Not that that's a bad thing, just...not as momentous as The Chosen. So this is a bit of a low note in the series, but at least it's not a BAD note.
