The Walking Dead Compendium One

Sięgnąłem po komiks na fali popularności egranizacji i ekranizacji, zachęcony bardzo dobrymi opiniami. Będąc dzieckiem połykałem kilka komiksów w każdym miesiącu (czasy TM-Semic :) ), ale chyba z nich już dawno wyrosłem. Spodziewałem się dojrzałej opowieści o problemach ludzi starających się radzić sobie z życiem po apokalipsie. Niby o tym jest komiks, ale jest w nim też sporo sieczki z zombie i wypada to jakoś groteskowo. Jestem zawiedziony kreacją bohaterów, a przede wszystkim dialogami - gdybym miał krótko podsumować o czym jest ten komiks, to jest on o gadających postaciach. O czym gadają? O tym co zrobili, co teraz robią i co zrobią za chwilę. To co zrobili i co robią widać na bieżąco na obrazkach (hint: komiks), ale żeby czymś wypełnić dymki, to opowiadają dodatkowo o tym co robią. Nie ma to żadnego sensu. W tym komiksie jest masa tekstu, którym to faktem byłem pozytywnie zaskoczony, dopóki nie zdałem sobie sprawy z tego, że jest to tylko wypełniacz.

Wolę już nawet nudną ekranizację, natomiast gra przerasta pierwowzór i to pod każdym względem. To właśnie w grze znajdziemy najlepszą fabułę, najciekawsze postaci i największe emocje. Komiks można sobie odpuścić, jest przereklamowany.

After the ambiguous ending to the TV show for The Walking Dead, I couldn't help but want to see what would happen next. Sure, the TV show is different from the comic, I get that, but still there's so many similarities that I immediately started reading through the comic to see what might happen.

The Compendium #1 covers the first 48 issues of the comic - up until after the prison arc. Everything happens so fast compared to the show, that it took some getting used to. This was the first comic I've read, but I can say it was addictive from the start. Even re-reading parts I'd watched in the show and determining the small differences between the comic was a lot of fun.
