I want to start by saying I was sent this book as part of a blog tour I participated in in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.
I don't know if I can review this book without any spoilers but I will try my best just be warned that there might be slight spoilers from here on out. So here goes. Right from chapter one you get sucked into the world of Elysium. It is fast paced and action packed throughout the entire story. So much so that the characters hardly get to recover from one “attack” before something else happens. But it works. It doesn't feel like your being rushed or anything like that. I immediately loved Devin and Isaac as soon as they were introduced into the story. To me both of them are very bad ass. Devin is in a constant battle with his true nature and the fact that he is able to resist it and do good is amazing. Even though this was an amazing story I still had a few issues with it. First off there are so many characters and “ creatures “ that sometimes I had a difficult time keeping up with who was who and what they are. Secondly I didn't care to much for the POV change at the end of the book. Most of the book is told in Isaacs POV and then the last 5 or so chapters are told in Nepheles POV. I guess I just didn't like it because I was so attached to Isaac and I despise Nephele. Well I guess I don't completely despise her. I love how she is a bad ass female character who can take care of her self. You will understand my dilemma when you read the book for yourself. Overall this book was really amazing and I am looking forward to continuing on with this series.
