The action (and the body count) are starting to build up again as some of the events set up in the previous volume come to a head. Even so, there's plenty of room for characterisation as different members of the pantheon interact as they wait for Woden's big plan to reach fruition. In fact, the most notable part of this volume is the reveal of Woden's origin at the end, throwing another unexpected spanner into the works. We're about two-thirds of the way through this now and it's still throwing up surprises and plot twists, even in a story that's relatively action-filled, as this one is. And we end on yet another big revelation - it's a testament to how well-written this is that that's not gotten stale by now.
Oof, spoiler, we lose some more deities. One of them is horrible, but she's basically one of my favorite characters, so I was sad to see her go. Insane things are going on now. ARGH!
