Kit's usually so good at reading people. How could she have been taken in by the deceptions of a con man? And why has he targeted her? Piece by piece, Kit realizes that this treachery goes a lot deeper, and gets a lot deadlier. Now the only way out is to expose the vicious puppet master who's turned her life upside-down.
Adventurous in her work as owner of a boutique interior design firm, Kit Finn couldn't be tamer in her personal life. While on vacation in the Florida Keys, she resolves to do something risky for once, and acts on her attraction to a charming stranger at her hotel. But back in New York, when Kit arrives at his luxury apartment ready to pick up where they left off in the Keys, she doesn't recognize the man standing on the other side of the door. Kit's been thrown into a treacherous plot-- and the only way to protect herself, her business, and the people she loves is to find out the true identity of the man who has turned her life upside down.

Ughh probably closer to a 2.5 as heartbreaking as that is to type. I really like Kate White and I like her writing a lot. That beginning? Absolutely amazing.
But then the plot just started and stalled so many times I was convinced this book was 400 pages plus but it definitely was less than 350. It dragged on and I didn't really find the uncovered information interesting unfortunately.
I'm going to give one more of her books a shot and then just look back fondly on the one book I gave 5 stars years ago.
